Workshop
Overview
Many bacteria have very distinctive
characteristics that once seen are not easily forgotten.
However in a routine clinical microbiology laboratory, many of
these are seen infrequently; this makes the process of building
a “morphologic memory bank” a slow one.
This workshop will be an opportunity to see
a large range of “memorable microbes” all in one day.
Participants will be given the opportunity
to test their skills, as they examine cultures and Gram stains.
The workshop is ideally suited to recent medical microbiology
bench scientists, but the diversity of the organisms presented
will ensure that even experienced bacteriologists will find the
workshop of value.
