Information for Oral Presenters
Speaker Preparation Room
The Speaker Preparation Room will be located onsite at the
Melbourne Convention Centre and will be open during the conference hours.
On arrival at the
conference you will need to visit the Speaker Preparation Room so
that technicians can check your presentation and load it onto the
server. Preferably you should do this as soon as
you've collected your name badge from the Registration Desk. However if
that's not possible or there's a queue, you can try again later - but
not leaving it any later than either the day before or at least 4 hours
before you are scheduled to speak.
Presentation Time Allocation
Generally the following amount of time is allocated for each
presentation type, however you should refer
to the scheduling information emailed to you by the conference
organisers for exact details:
40 mins - Plenary Presentation (incl
3 mins questions)
30 mins - Symposia Presentation (incl
3 mins questions)
15 mins - Proffered Paper
(incl Case Studies) Presentation (incl 3 mins questions)
Audio Visual Equipment
All oral
presentations should be presented via data
projection and are preferred in a
Windows for PC based
application eg. PowerPoint.
If your presentation is in a platform
other than
Windows for PC based,
it would be appreciated if you either save
it for Windows or convert it prior
to arrival at the conference. If unable to
do so, please ensure you let us know
well in advance which platform you
plan to use so that technicians can be ready
for you - if you don't say anything, you may
have problems with your presentation when
you get onsite.
Each meeting
room will be set up for data projection
using Windows
for PC based software, will
be networked to the Speaker Preparation
Room and will supported by a professional
a/v technician. You will be able to use
your laptop in the Speaker Preparation Room
but not in the meeting rooms. Please also
note that slide projectors, overhead
projectors and internet access in the
meeting rooms are all not available.
(Please advise the
conference organisers as soon as
possible if you will require any other form
of a/v equipment.)
Please avoid
having to make changes or modifications to
your presentation when onsite.
If there are
movie files within your presentation, please
ensure that you remember to bring these
additional files, plus your presentation,
with you!
